My name is Wendy and am from Singapore! I work as a part-time barista at Starbucks.
It has been a month working there and it was just to save me some income to get by while on the job hunt.
So, today’s blog is on what is my morning routine like?
Practically, everyday is the same.
Since young, at primary school age I have been ‘trained’ to wake up early by myself as much as possible. I am the oldest in my family and my younger brother started schooling later than me, so I kinda was ‘trained’ and lived by independently without bothering my parents a lot.
Waking up early is a habit to start at a very young age.
It becomes a sort of good and bad habit of mine. Until now, I can sleep at midnight and wake up at around 8am. The latest time so far in my whole life is 9am?
Although, I will be awake like 5am to go to the toilet and actually sleeping with an awaken mind till 9am. (LOLS) I guess you guys might be wondering what the hell is wrong with me. It is actually a habit that started at a very young age.
So, every morning I will have to wake up around 5 or 6am depending on my morning schedule for work. My schedule is mostly in the morning shift from 7am to 4pm. My bedtime will be mostly 9pm to 10pm if there is a working schedule on the next day.
Otherwise, I will sleep at 12 midnight.
There were sayings about maintaining 8 hours of sleep that actually make you look younger than your age. Plus, listen to your tired body if you truly feel weak and tired.
How you feel will affect the next whole day. Right?
Back in college, there was an edge camp where my class got to bond. I could not sleep in that ‘horror’ kind of school hotel. There were rumors and I am 100% afraid of horror stories or ghosts. So, I slept only an hour from 2am to 3am.
That was my first for sleeping in so super late in my entire lifetime. Then, I realised the side effect of myself sleeping in so late. I became crazy and began to dance along the corridors at the hotel. It was like my body clock has passed the ‘tired body’ period and became crazily hyperactive!
My friends thought I was on drugs. Actually, I have never slept late and it was all due to ghost stories that make me restless. So I went back home, feeling totally worn out and slept for a day!
Oh god, I got into so much in explaining my early wake up call. So, I will wake up, get my clothes or work uniforms and have breakfast.
Ended my 24 years of BS (Big Snooze)
Compared to a year ago, which I ended my lazy 24 years of being not much productive, these 8 months of having my IPad next to me while having breakfast is automatically done.
I am a blogger and I need to squeeze in time to get up drafts, images, topics and so on before publishing. So my morning can tend to be more active and productive compared to night time.
At night, I tend to get sleepy like around 8pm. It is like an automatic call for me. (Laughs) I wake up 2 hours before the scheduled time.
Like if I have to work at 8am, I wake up at around 5am or 6am. It depends on being productive on my blog then waking up early will be it.
Then, it took me one hour to be prepared, including having breakfast, make-up and sunblock for 15 minutes. Then, I left for work!
So, that is kinda my morning routine. Simple yet tiring every morning but you kinda get used to it. 🙂 thank you for reading my blog!
